Exposed to her father's eclectic 1000+ vinyl collection, Lauren Ritter began her incursion into the music world early on. Although a classically trained violinist and viola player since the age of 8, Lauren always expressed a strong interest in electronic music.
Exposure to the music technology department at her alma mater New York University sparked her curiosity in programs like MAX/MSP and C++. In no time, she was hooked and spiraling into a whirlwind of electronic music production endeavors. Her digital explorations inspired Lauren to spend countless hours in the studio, experimenting with analog gear. From there, she went on to switching majors and teaching herself how to produce and mix records. Before long, she poured her savings into a pair of turntables, perfecting her technique, and playing out in places like Club Love in the Village.
Embarking on a one-year-sabbatical in Berlin, Lauren spent time working at the renowned !K7 Records, as well as producing music on her own. Returning to New York with fresh knowledge and experience from the Mecca of Electronic Music, Lauren embarked on an active involvement with the ReSolute collective. She now is an active member of Brooklyn's underground, organizing events with ReSolute, playing coveted slots at institutions like Output and Cielo, and opening for respected talent such as Raresh, Moderat, Thomas Melchior, Zip, Kate Simko, and Frank & Tony, to name a few, and playing coveted slots at festivals such as Time Warp US, Electric Zoo, and Woogie Weekend.
The last few years have been a whirlwind year for Lauren. Her track “Glass Hours” was included in All Day I Dream’s Summer Sampler in 2015, and was followed up by her “Lark” EP on All Day I Dream in 2016 - her track “Lark” was included in Lee Burridge’s Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1, and “Swoon” was included in Bob Moses’ Essential Mix. She played her first All Day I Dream in her hometown New York in 2015 has been a resident for the event series ever since. She has been busy touring the world, with gigs in Berlin, Moscow, Dubai, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit, Portland, Seattle, San Juan, Miami & more.
Lauren is currently wrapping up more studio work with new releases and remixes to be expected later in 2017.
